The research project is an 8-page minimum paper in which you will do outside
research on the topic of Comparative Constitutionalism, i.e., you will compare
constitutional issues we have discussed in this class with how those issues
compare to two countries from different continents.
An example of a topic might be: “Hate Speech in America, Belgium, and
Botswana”
You would first make a rough outline:
I. Intro of Topic / Statement of Topic
II. Hate Speech Legislation and Litigation in America
a. case example 1 explained
b. case example 2 explained
III. Hate Speech Legislation and Litigation in Belgium
a. comparison to US 1
b. comparison to US 2
IV. Hate Speech Legislation and Litigation in Botswana
a. comparison to US 1
b. comparison to US 2
V. Comparison between Belgium and Botswana
VI. Conclusion
VII. Sources / Bibliography
a. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF SIX SCHOLARLY articles from JSTOR
or Google Scholar
b. Should have relevant citations to case law and any constitutional
provisions
