Answer: Patients with Diabetes Mellitus are not complying with diet regimen. Family bringing unhealthy snacks/food choices, causing the patient to have elevated blood sugar readings.
2. Why is this issue of concern?
Answer: If patient continues to have elevated readings, PO medication regimen will change to insulin.
3. What outcome is desired, actions must be taken, what would be the proposed timeline to implement or complete the advocacy activity?
Answer: Teaching to family and current facility staff. Within the next six weeks.
