There are a lot of methodological procedures that are introduced in this draft but not unpacked–for example, you mention that you will use (and remember, you are proposing a research study, not indicating what you already did) a thematic analysis, but you don’t at all explain what this means (or the procedures for this analysis plan), nor do you talk about how you will ensure the trustworthiness of your analysis. You mention measures you will use but provide no examination of why or their credibility as measures. These are just some examples of how you mention procedures without explaining them. ake more time to unpack the research you cite, which means going beyond a simple summary of the findings. After reading your review, I should have a stronger sense of what each of these studies was about (for example, were they qualitative studiies? quantitative? who was involved?), as well as your critical analysis of them. This kind of “unpacking” will help me to see that you have really engaged with the literature and understand it beyond a superficial level. Second, your literature review can be improved with greater organization. Think about utilizing section headings to help you organize the material. For example, one section could focus on “CA-CBT,” where you define what this intervention entails, as well as review some of the available research that has utilized it (can you find studies, for example, that have examined its effectiveness, even if those studies do not involve an incarcerated population?)
