Thank
you for meeting with me today. It was good to see you. May I request the
following please for our next meeting
1, Could
you please send your updated work a number of days in advance of our next
meeting so I can review in good time.
2,
During our meeting I suggested that your hypothesis needed to be more focused
and directly result from the Lit Review.
3, I
would suggest that the hypothesises are shorter and clear linked directly to
the research questions. You questions strongly suggest that you will be using a
mono method approach but you have advised that your preferred option is a mixed
method approach. Please consider your research questions and your data
collection method.
May I suggest you really review your
hypothesis as a hypothesis states your predictions about what your research
will find. It is a tentative answer to your research question that has not yet been tested.
For some research projects, you might have to write several hypotheses that
address different aspects of your research question.
So
A hypothesis is not just a guess –
it should be based on existing theories and knowledge. It also has to be
testable, which means you can support or refute it through scientific research methods (such as experiments,
observations, and statistical
analysis of
data).
Can you test your hypothesis if so
how what research questions will answer it? If your questions are opened ended
then this often would suggest a qualitative approach.
