Essay requirements
1. This essay should be 2 FULL pages, double spaced- and write in APA format (If you do not meet the page requirement, points will be taken off)
2. Upload your essay as a Microsoft Word document
3. Develop an interesting title (Do not use “Argumentative Essay” as your title)
4. Make sure you have an argument that you can support (This is not a book report/summary- you need to have an actual argument that establishes your position on what you are talking about)
5. You need to have a thesis statement. Your thesis statement is your argument (Do not write “I am going to write about” and Do not write “In this paper, we will examine”)
6. Everything should refer back to your thesis statement/argument!
7. You should have at least 1 quote in every paragraph that you have and explain that quote- How does this quote relate to your argument?
8. You can use your Journal response papers to help you
9. Always include the title of the book you are working with and include the author
10. Always address the author of a story or book by their last names
11. Do not reference anything personal in this essay (Do not include your life into the essay)
12. You must write in present tense (Use words like: Are, Has, Is…etc)
13. Do not include pronouns such as: We, You, My, Us, or I
14. Do not include phrases like: “I think,” “This quote means,” “This quote underscores,” “I feel that the author…,” “I think that the author…,”
15. Include a solid, one-paragraph conclusion that sums up your point (Do not say “In conclusion” or “In summary”)
16. SUBMIT ALL WORK TO BLACKBOARD DROPBOX ONLY!
17. NO LATE WORK ACCPETED!
