Students will carefully read the selected article, taking notes on key sections. Notes must be submitted with the final paper.
- Abstract: Identify the article’s overall purpose and main findings.
- Introduction: Understand the background and research questions.
- Methods: Focus on how the research was conducted.
- Results: Highlight the key findings of the study.
- Discussion: Reflect on how the results contribute to the field and any broader implications.
Using ChatGPT
After completing the initial reading, students will use ChatGPT to:
- Summarize the article’s main findings and their significance.
- Clarify complex terms or concepts that were difficult to understand.
- Generate questions related to the articleβs methodology or conclusions.
- Discuss the broader implications of the research findings in a larger context.
Analysis Framework
Students will use the following framework to structure their analysis in their own words (do not copy and paste from ChatGPT):
- Summary (150-200 words): In your own words – discuss the article’s main points, including the research question, methodology, key findings, and significance.
- Methods Critique: Critically analyze the research methods used. Are they appropriate for the research question? Were any critical controls or variables overlooked?
- Results Interpretation: Discuss the significance of the results. Are there any limitations to the study’s conclusions? What might these results mean for future research?
- ChatGPT Interaction: Describe how using ChatGPT influenced your understanding of the article. Did it help clarify any complex concepts? Were there any surprising insights?
Submission Requirements:
- Length: The final submission should be between 1000-1500 words.
- Format: The document should be in Times New Roman font, with one-inch margins, double-spaced, and cited in APA or MLA format.
