In response to student interest and in collaboration with our Provost’s office, I have created the opportunity for online students to have more interaction and actual experience using the course materials in this class. Although it may seem new and therefore scary, the international collaboration consists of attending two zoom meetings scheduled to accommodate the two time zones of the schools involved (UMass Lowell & American University of Cairo). If you truly cannot complete the collaborative assignment, you may read the three articles attached as a single pdf file here, reflect on them, and then use the prompts below to write a script for yourself to record your answers using Canvas Studio. Once you are on the Canvas studio tab, click create, and then click studio capture to record a video. Submit a five minute video of your reflection on the three articles. This assignment will count for the 5% of your overall grade instead of the collaboration.

These three articles popped up from a recent search of the Wall Street Journal for the words “current articles on business ethics” – after reading these articles:
- Can you relate them to the course work we have studied? How?
- Does the existence of modern business ethics dilemmas mean that ethics have changed for the worse over time? Or does it indicate that these issues are ever present no matter what year/generation/etc. is doing business?
- The articles each mention types of ethics regulators, such as criminal prosecutors, ethics councils, and prominent religious figures. In your own opinion, how can these laws, guides, best practices help preserve fairness in business today?
** You have until Thursday July 10th to finish this so it would be best to read the articles, THINK about them, REFLECT over some reasonable amount of time, create your script, practice delivering it, and then record & upload it.**
