Assessment – 10%
Think about your own research project and identify a social dimension of that research. It can be loosely related to your research topic.
- Explain how you would use a qualitative or mixed-methods approach to study that social dimension you identified.
- In ~1000 words document, include the following (you can use these as headings in your report):
- Explain what your research focus is from a social dimension and why it is important to study. You can include research objectives and/or research questions. (3 marks)
- Justify what approach would be suitable for conducting that research (i.e., a qualitative or mixed methods approach. (3 marks)
- Briefly describe what data collection and data analysis methods you would use and justify why they would be suitable for the research. (4 marks)
- Reference social science research design texts (books, book chapters or journal articles) to provide strong justification for the research design you propose.
- (You can choose to write in the first person, for example “I will…… I chose….)
