Advance Changes to Operations Needed to Improve Governance, Risk, Privacy, and Compliance

This week you learned about the advancement of changes to operations needed to facilitate improvements to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance in the organization. This assignment is designed to support your application of that knowledge. Specifically, you will perform research into anticipated changes that will occur in the future related to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance. A solution relevant to a case study organization will be created through the development of structural improvements that will result in a revised comprehensive policy detailing related operations changes designed to reduce risk in the case study organization.

Instructions

Select an enterprise-scale organization and industry of belonging based on governance, risk, and compliance  or your research interests. If desired, you can use this organization as your case study for all the assignments in the course.

1.   Write a research paper that clearly articulates a problem statement in the topic area of anticipated changes that will occur in the future related to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance.

2.   Describe the methods and implementation plan currently used by the case study organization to support governance through appropriate policies that support resiliency to changes in technology, technology use, threats, compliance, and privacy.

3.   Describe anticipated changes that will need to be considered based on the future related to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance and the need to plan proactively to increase resiliency in how protection of critical information resources is afforded via operational changes.

4.   Detail the design of appropriate structures that are a result of comprehensive policy and related operations changes designed to reduce risk in the case study organization.

5.   Explain how these structural improvements add insights to cybersecurity research in operational risk reduction strategies that factor in the future related to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance.

6.   Review the academic research regarding anticipated changes related to governance, risk, privacy, and compliance. Write a problem statement that identifies a gap in the literature and place it in the Appendix of the paper.
