2.11 Reflection Activity: Writing for Audience and Collaborating with AI Writing Tools

In this assignment, you will practice two important skills: tailoring your writing for your audience and using generative AI (Wordtune) as a writing partner. You will imagine yourself in a fictional scenario, which prompts you to draft an email to an ASU professor. For Part I of the assignment, you will briefly research that professor, share what you found, and use your findings to list three ways you could tailor your email for that professor. Then, of course, actually write the email! In Part II of the assignment, you will plug your email draft into Wordtune, enlisting Wordtune’s help to both revise and generate content for your email. You will make three audience-driven revisions–while practicing course-approved strategies for crediting (i.e., citing) the contributions of Wordtune, your writing partner! Finally, you will explain why you think each revision can help your email be better received by your professor audience. In Part III, you will submit all of your materials.
