Answer the following questions:
  • How important is the set or location to the overall look and feel of the film? Is it essentially a realistic, authentic set, or is it stylized to suggest a heightened reality?
  • How does the lighting contribute to the overall emotional attitude or tone of the movie clip? Is the lighting direct and harsh, medium and balanced or soft and diffused? How do the lighting decisions fit the scene?
  • What details of costuming and makeup help the actors be “in character”? Do these factors play a role in creating a time and place?
  • Are there any special color effects (or black and white) used to achieve a unique overall look? If so, how?

Entire essay should be a minimum of 400 words in paragraph MLA format and include works cited if necessary
