Reseach question: What constitutional flaws or discrepancies contributed to the belief held by Donald Trump and his advisors that they could attempt to overturn the 2020 U.S. presidential election?
Broad topic: The problem of constitutional governments in times of crisis, emergency, or “states of exception.

Provide a brief overview of the Attack on Capitol Hill.
Logic of inquiry section: describe how I will format my essay.
Explain that I will start literature review of the constitution. Please annotate an ACADEMIC source that does this. Next I will touch on the case study of the attack, it doesn’t have to be an academic source. Next touch on the ambiguities and flaws in the constitution that could have left the Republicans to think they could overturn an election. Please use an ACADEMIC source to discuss the ambiguities. Finally touch on how I will compare this case to US election of 2000, with Al Gore and George W Bush. Use this case study to show how the American electoral process leads to controversies.
