This is a case study where you are the CEO or owner of a primary care pediatric practice. Using the guidelines and key principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), develop a plan to increase awareness, understanding, and utilization of interprofessional communication key elements among your stakeholders, employees, patients, and their families. This assignment has a template that is designed to help you organize the action plan. Include the following in your communication plan.
- Addressing cultural awareness in health communication among employees, providers, pediatric patients and their families.
- Determine strategies to ensure an accurate understanding of provided information.
- How to address pediatric patients and their families who believe they have understood directions but may be embarrassed to ask questions to confirm their understanding
- How to identify and assist pediatric patients and their families to separate evidence-based information, especially online, from misleading ads and gimmicks.
When developing this communication plan include the promotion of the key principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This assignment has a template to serve as a guide to help you organize objectives, target audiences, messages, tools, and timelines. Use the template to answer the questions. Current evidence-based references are required to support your answers. This assignment should be 3-4 pages including references.
