This assessment is a progressive assignment, intended to provide an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of war, its fundamental character, its root causes, its execution, and its results. Based on this understanding you will analyze a war of your choice from the fundamental conflict(s) that produced it, and end by providing an alternative outcome to the conflict short of war. The simulated, alternative response will demonstrate greater value for the decision-maker(s) and for the societies involved. It will demonstrate how the alternative response developed could be relevant in resolving a similar circumstance of war reflecting a contemporary international conflict.
- Identify the political entities involved, the decision makers, and describe the primary cause of conflict.
The paper should be no more nor less than 3 pages, double spaced in font size 12, Chicago Style.
Assess the outcomes of the war.
- Include a discussion of the effects of the war on the political entities involved, the individual decision-makers, and on potential external actors – those political entities not involved in the engagement but impacted by its conduct and outcome.
