In Table 1, under the “Administrative Structure” domain, the item “IO’s authority to allocate resources based on IACUC/vet recommendations” received a relatively strong mean rating of 3.93 (SD = 0.62), indicating general agreement that resource empowerment supports compliance. Additionally, the presence of clear lines of responsibility scored the highest overall (M = 4.18, SD = 0.49), reinforcing the perception that structure and resourcing are integral.
In Table 2, under the “Training and Oversight” domain:
- 85% of reviewed protocols showed documented recent training within one year for the PI and staff.
- 97% confirmed that procedures were assigned only to trained personnel.
- 100% had documented veterinary oversight for invasive procedures.
