Instructions:1. Paper Length – All submissions should be no less than 1,500 words. Any submission that is less than 1,500 words is subject to deductions regardless of how many words were missing to comply. For example, a submission with 1,499 words qualifies as not meeting the length requirement. The works cited page and heading do not go towards the word count, so students are responsible for ensuring that the word count is 1,500 words before adding the works cited page.
2. Format- All submissions should be in MLA format.3. Font: All fonts should be size 12 and Times New Roman.4. Heading – Students must use proper MLA heading. No submission should contain a title page.5. Language/Mechanics – No submission should use first-person or use of the following pronouns (you, me, us, we, our, I). Further, the contraction of these pronouns are also not allowed. Slang language, icons, or text language is not allowed unless it is part of a quote. Grammar should be at college level with proper punctuation.6. Sources – No websites are allowed as sources. Only peer-review journal articles are allowed as sources. If a student finds a peer-review journal article on JSTOR, EBSCO or any other database in the library, they must ONLY cite the article information. The website which is the domain for where the article can be found in the database must be removed. If it is not removed, the same deductions as if a website was used will apply.7. Academic Integrity – I am not against students using whatever technology is at their disposal to assist them in writing their own paper; however, submissions with a high percentage of A.I use, ChatGPT, or high Turnitin similarity index percentages will receive a grade of zero. Submissions must be a new assignment; essays that have been submitted to other classes no matter what semester will receive a zero. Information taken directly from the source should be in quotations or paraphrased along with an MLA format in-text citation. Be advised that an excessive use of quotes may also increase your similarity index and may lead to deductions.
