COMPARING PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN CONSTRUCTION IN MALTA AND F.C.T ABUJA, NIGERIA BETWEEN 2015-2025

What constraints and challenges do project managers face in these two regions in the last decade? 4. What best practices can be recommended for improving project management performances in construction? AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH Aim: To explore and compare project management practices in the construction sectors of Malta and FCT Abuja, Nigeria, identifying key challenges and proposing actionable improvements. Objectives: This proposed research seeks to conduct a holistic evaluation of project management practices in Maltese and Abuja ́s construction segments, aimed at determining the critical areas for improvement and the actionable recommendations to enhance project delivery. • To Compare Project Management Techniques Used In Construction Industry In Malta And Abuja: • To Evaluate The Influence Of These Practices On Project Time, Cost, Quality, And Sustainability Results: • To investigate the limitations and systemic problems that are obstructing a successful construction process management: • To Provide Recommendations For Policy Makers And Industry Groups To Help Enhance The Delivery Of Construction Projects:METHODOLOGY This study will employ a comparative case study approach, where secondary data will be used to derive from academic publications, government policy documents, and project archives. However these data would be utilized to analyze construction project management practices in Malta and FCT Abuja, Nigeria. Data will be collected from: • Academic journals and dissertations focusing on construction project management in both regions. • Government reports and policy documents related to construction industry regulations and standards. • Industry publications and reports from professional bodies such as the Malta Chamber of Construction Management and the Nigerian Institute of Building. The analysis will involve a thematic review of the literature to identify common practices, challenges, and areas for improvement in project management within the construction sectors of both regions.CONSTRAINTS AND CHALLENGES The constraints and challenges must be clearly stated defined and explained.RELEVANCE OF THE STUDY This study is significant for both academia and industry. By comparing project management practices in Malta and Abuja, it offers valuable insights into both shared and location specific challenges. The findings will support policy formulation for more effective construction governance, inform professional training curricula, and encourage the adoption of best practices tailored to regional contexts.
