Describe 5 cases you have observed during your observership in theatre. Each of these should be 500 words and have one important lesson that you have learned from it. The lessons could be scientific (e.g. vasospasm after subarachnoid haemorrhage, or blood glucose control in theatre), or something around ethics or decision making, or communication and . Break up the writing as follows:
1. First 100-200 words should be a description of the case . Please give a short description of the case, avoiding any patient identifying features. Concentrate on the points you are going to focus on in the lesson learned.
2. Next 300-400 words, describe a lesson you learned with critical appraisal of some of the literature around the topic . We have left this quite broad as each case and lesson learned will be different. But they should be around critical care topics.
