thesis-based essay exploring either the social
context of a passage or the literary context of a passage.
For this discussion thread, you need to write a first draft introduction to your research paper which will include a thesis claim, an initial outline, and the start to your bibliography of resources. Your bibliography needs to include at least five properly cited sources that can be used to answer your research question. It is easy for students, at this point, to choose sources that are the easiest to find, but are not actually that helpful for the research. Do not fall into this temptation. Rather than choosing sources from the top of your search list, look instead for the type of sources that lend to clarifying your research questions. Sources that are clearly on topic and elucidatory will strengthen your paper by bolstering your points.
