This is a 2,500 word written case study report. The aim of the report is for you to demonstrate that you can analyse the influence of a health condition on the cognitive aspects of occupational performance and engagement in context for a real-life case study. The report also aims for you to demonstrate that you can effectively plan and theoretically justify an occupation-based intervention for the person in the case study.
- Use the report format template for this assessment The report format template provides detailed information about what to write in each of the different sections.
- There will be opportunities throughout the course to work on the skills required to complete your case study report. There are two compulsory Formative group presentations during the course to receive feedback and class work will help you complete the different report sections.
- There are two case study options (see Case Study 1 & 2 below). Read through both of these, watch the videos and then select one case study to complete your occupational therapy report for that person. The report requires you to demonstrate your understanding of the neurological and psychological aspects of cognition influencing a person’s occupational performance in context. Potential occupational issues and a goal will be identified, and relevant assessments and intervention discussed. All sources of information that are used to help support your thinking should be appropriately referenced.
- Your report should follow the report format template and the detailed instructions within it.
- Using the report format template, provide information about the personβs diagnosis, and their perspective. You need to identify an occupational issue and goal. Next you will need to describe strengths and limitations in the person’s occupational performance for that OI and Goal, and explain how the performance relates to specific cognitive aspects and factors in their context. You then need to justify and describe an intervention plan, including the intervention approach, information about relevant theory and evidence, further assessment, and the intervention process. You must reference information in the report and provide a reference list.
- The template headings are not included in the word count.
