Assignment Overview

24 year old male patient presented to the nurse practitioner led clinic with a complaint of ” otalgia” x 3 days. The patient reports otalgia in the right ear that is getting progressively worse. After obtaining a detailed history, the nurse practioner performs a physical examination. The examination of the right ear is shown in the two images presented below. Image 1 ( External ear examination) and Image 2 ( Middle ear examination).

Guidelines

I. Using the two images presented above, document the examination of the right ear based on the physical examination by the nurse practitioner

2. Did the physical examiantion help to arrive at an accurate diagnosis? Discuss how the physical examination of the right ear can help the nurse practitioner to formulate an accurate diagnosis.

3. Submit 1-2 paragraphs answering the above question. The first paragraph will document the ear examination and the second paragraph will adress how the physical examination helped to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
