Suppose the publisher of a print textbook, containing both “The Farmer’s Bride” and “Standing Female Nude” needs to cut the cost of future editions and decides to leave out one of the preceding works. In your essay, argue for which work to keep by comparing and contrasting the benefits of studying each of these two works.

- How the work contributes to our understanding of present-day gender issues.
Whichever topic you choose, be as specific as you can about the reasons for your choices, and include details or brief examples from the texts and other materials in this module.
Do Not Include
- Plot summary: Assume your readers are familiar enough with your selections that they know what happens but are unfamiliar with how the works represent women and gender.
- Long quotes or long paraphrased passages from a text or course materials
- Information from course materials (e.g., author background sections that is NOT related to your argument for retaining one literary work over the other.)
