The Economic Lessons from the Myth of King Midas – Reflections on Wealth, Greed, and Scarcity in Economics

my teachers comment is this is largely a good paper draft. You make some effective points using the Midas myth to reflect upon modern economics.

You have however used several sources that are not part of the coursework (and the syllabus is clear that you shouldn’t do this). Maybe you TA approved these sources, but I doubt it because some of what is written does not make sense. What does this sentence mean? ‘Ermas demonstrates when Penelope reveals to her unknown twin sister that Odysseus married her because he has not touched a woman in twenty years’. Where did you get it from? It is nonsense!

I would like you to read and refer to, with detailed engagement with the text, Ovid’s account of the Midas myth in his Metamorphoses. At the moment your paper is too reliant on secondary sources that have mistakes in them. You can find the text in the library or borrow it from me or your TA during office hours.

I look forward to reading your final draft.
