My paper topic is :
- Why we do or do not need the Bill of Rights
I want to focus on this topic because the Bill of Rights is a key part of American political and legal identity.

Written Assignment – Public Policy Statement paper: Students will research a policy issue of their choice and write a practical applied research paper that demonstrates their research and writing skills. How to choose a public policy topic; identify a general policy area such education, environment, criminal justice, health care, etc. identify, define, and analyze a public policy problem at the federal level. Your paper must have five major sections: Introduction; Problem identification & Scope; Alternative policy solutions; policy recommendation; and a bibliography section.

Your written papers will be graded based on the following criteria:
- Organization that produces a focused response to the question: Your paper must have five major sections: Introduction; Problem identification & Scope; Alternative policy solutions; policy recommendation; and a bibliography section. Only material relevant to the question should be included.
- Completeness and accuracy: The essay should respond to all parts of the question, demonstrate full understanding of the arguments of any authors under discussion, and offer specific examples as appropriate to substantiate points. Names, dates, and events relevant to the essay should be accurate. Any information copied from an online source or paper source must be properly sited in a bibliography.
- Clear and effective communication: The essay should communicate ideas clearly, using a vocabulary appropriate for the course and the discipline; grammatical conventions should be used. The distinction between your voice and the author(s) under discussion should be clear.
- Bibliography: A “Chicago Manual of Style” bibliography must be included.
