BUILDING BLOCK 2: Supply Chain Collaboration and the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process

About this assignment

In this second Building Block assignment, your team will analyze the methods your organization uses for internal and external collaboration. It will be best to remain focused on one product in your chosen supply chain organization rather than the entire portfolio. Use your analysis to determine which internal stakeholders in your company would have contribute to, and participate in, a typical Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) team.

Objectives

• Describe your organization’s collaboration methods or strategies for a specific product or service
• Understand and explain why your organization uses these specific methods
• Detail a prototypical S&OP team and the roles and responsibilities of the team members

1. In 3-4 sentences, justify your final selection of the product or service you’ll use for your team’s Capstone assignment. Reference any previous instructor feedback you’ve received on your selection if necessary (e.g., from Building Block 1). 
2. Provide a short description of the organization you’ve chosen to analyze, including the organization’s scope and scale. 
3. Describe the methods the organization’s supply chain uses for internal and external collaboration.
4. Describe the S&OP team’s composition, including typical roles and responsibilities.
5. Provide your answer in a write-up in a Word document.
