I have to evaluate how well psychology uses scientific princples in : 1. hypothesis testing and 2.Empirical methods. ( I’m arguing Psychology is a science)
For hypothesis testing, please talk about how paychology uses evidence and statistical analysis to reject or accept hypothesis for psychology is a science. Against psychology being a science: talk about psychology having ethical and practical limitations. Comment how psychology sometimes relies on correlationao studies which can siggest but not confirm causation.
For empirical methods please talk about complexity of humans making difficult to isolate variables. Also about the artifical problem (the more artificial the environment gets, the lower the external validity but higher internal validity due to the complete controp where IV alone was responsible for the change in the DV=ongoing dilemma).
It would be great if you could use reliable journal articles/ studies to support the points. Preferably from Google Scholar.
Mini conclusion about how well psychology follows scientific rigour after each feature. Thanks so much!!
