Based on the assigned reading from the text, one piece of legislation that impacts human services programs is the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016. Many people suffer from addiction all across the world. This legislation allows a certain amount of funds for drug prevention and treatment. This helps people with addiction who canβt afford it. This legislation has impacted our communities all over the United States in many ways. This also provides rehabilitation for people suffering with addiction, and who canβt afford the help they need. This will bring down the homelessness rate and clean up the streets within our communities. The alternative is someone sitting in jail for minor drug offense, but they could get the help that they need not behind bars. This legislation helps human service professionals build up their resources and find more ways to help clients in need. This helps economically because it will cut down on crime, like theft. Also, allows human services professionals to work easily with the court system so people can get the help they need.
