argument is that Shakespeare is intertextual himself because he borrowed pre-existing stories and want to show how intertextuality is an ongoing dialogue that is ever-evolving 
look at Disneyfication: how disney takes original stories and tends to hide the darker, nastier sides. Because disney is aimed at children, they have to change the story from the original.
