Submission: Methodology
The purpose of the Dissertation Methodology Report is to capture and support the following:

Demonstrate an understanding of
research project design and methods available;
·
Apply this general knowledge within
the epistemology and ontology of your personal research project;
·
Select appropriate methods for data
collection and analysis, including pilot studies,
·
Describe steps for evaluation,
validation or verification of findings;
·
Identify barriers and limitations
such as scope, sample sizes, response rates, availability of
information/experts willing to be interviewed, methodological flaws, bias etc.;
and
·
List references cited.
There is a need for discussion, comparison and evaluation
and you need to choose an appropriate writing style to enable this.

study and the relevance of
methods selected to the research problem, aim etc.
The
professional and academic context of the methodology is established and the
sources identified
and reviewed
are relevant to this context.
2. Quality of the
philosophical positioning
of the study (ontology
& epistemology)
Use
of methodological literature – quality of sources, relevance, synthesis,
critique.
3.
Quality
of the research strategy
and design
Understanding
and demonstration of planning an achievable research project – a sensible approach. Potential problems identified.
4.
Quality
of the review of methods
selected
Definition,
evaluation and justification of the proposed methods (indicating consideration
of limitations).
5.
Quality
of presentation, including
format, language and
grammar, professionalism
This
relates to the quality, professionalism and structure of your proposal and
brevity of style. The
quality of the formatting
and articulation and your use of language and grammar will be assessed.
6.
Quality
of the poster
Completeness
of the overview of the research project in its entirety including the data
collection. Use
of visual communication.
