Accountability for Professional School Counselors in the Public School
System.”
In my school district, it has been discovered that some
school counselors have not provided the necessary counseling services to
students. Many students have counseling services designated in their IEP
(Individualized Education Plan), and the school counselors have falsely
documented that they have provided counseling when, in reality, they have not
seen
the students.
The other school counselors have blatantly not served the
student and have not documented anything. My school district has been under
state investigation. An accountability plan and ethical responsibility to hold
the school counselors accountable need to be put in
place.
