PREPARING THE INTERIM RESEARCH FINAL REPORT
I have completed the first 3 chapters of a 5 chapter Research Report which is purely quantitative research and having concluded my data collection and data coding, i hereby require a Tutor will carry out data analysis and write the last 2 chapters of my research report, conducting a detailed Descriptive Statistics Analysis, present the report with tables, charts, etc and also conduct Inferential statistics to test the Hypothesis of the Study using ANOVA, t-test, etc to report on the outcome of the research and present the findings and conclusions which consists of Chapters 4 and 5 as itemised below:
Chapter 4: Data Analysis and Findings
Next, you report the findings/ results of the research. You can structure this section around
sub-questions, hypotheses, or topics. Only report results that are relevant to the objectives
and research questions. The results section is strictly separated from the discussion, in quantitative and experimental research, the results should be presented separately before you discuss their meaning.
In the results section, it can often be helpful to include tables, graphs, and charts. Think carefully
about how best to present your data, and don’t include tables or figures that just repeat what
you have written – they should provide extra information or usefully visualise the results in a
way that adds value to your text.
Full versions of the data (and questionnaire) can be included as an appendix.
Chapter 5: Discussion & Conclusion
The discussion is where you explore the meaning and implications of the results of the research questions. Here you should interpret the results in detail, discussing whether
they met research expectations and how well they fit with the framework that was built in earlier
chapters. If any of the results were unexpected, offer explanations for why this might be.
It is a good idea to consider alternative interpretations of the data and discuss any limitations
that might have influenced the results. The discussion should reference other scholarly work to
show how the results fit with existing knowledge. You can also make recommendations for
future research or practical action.
Conclusion
The dissertation conclusion should concisely answer the main research question, leaving the
reader with a clear understanding of your central argument. Wrap up the dissertation with a
final reflection on what you did and how you did it. The conclusion often also includes
recommendations for research or practice. In this section, it is important to show how your
findings contribute to knowledge in the field and why your research matters. What have you
added to what was already known?
References
You must include full details of all sources that you have cited in a reference list (sometimes
also called a works cited list or bibliography). It’s important to follow a consistent reference
style. Each style has strict and specific requirements for how to format your sources in the
reference list. We are following the Harvard Referencing system. Refer to the Harvard
Referencing Guide to understand how to write in-text citations and reference lists in this
format. Additionally, an application such as Mendeley (www.mendely.com) or Zotero can
assist you in creating a reference list as per the Harvard format.
Appendix
You can include items such as the questionnaire, interview schedule and other tools for data
collection, large figures or tables that might not be easily included in the text within the chapters
and other material that is relevant to the research here. Items such as questionnaires, interview
schedules and SPSS output tables which are larger than one page may be included in the
Appendix
NOTE:
The tutor is expected to conduct a reliability and validity test and present the report within the research paper as well. The final report that will be sent back should be structured as stated below.
