This is an opportunity for you to discover and discuss current trends/controversial issues in Human Resource Management. The HRP is THE TERM PAPER for this course. Students will have until the last day of class to submit the HRP from the beginning of the first module until the last day of class. No late submissions will be accepted. You are encouraged to get an early start, and again, you may submit the HRP anytime on the last day of class.

Instructions
In the course, you will find various topics of interest within Human Resource Management. Some of these topics will be more interesting to you than others. In this report, you will have an opportunity to research one of these major areas in-depth, thus gaining a greater appreciation and knowledge of the area. This instruction sheet will highlight your guiding questions, describe the stylistic formatting and submission requirements, and provide a grading rubric for this assignment.
Guiding Questions
For this project, you will select one of the major chapter titles or subtitles of this course or a topic provided at the bottom.
The HRP should consist of a separate cover page, a 15-20 page narrative report, and an additional bibliography. See specific instructions numbered 1 through 4 below.
- Select a major topic. Then, SUBMIT THE TOPIC TO THE INSTRUCTOR FOR APPROVAL by week 3.
- When writing the paper, Describe your interest in this topic (i.e., why you chose this topic) and what you hope to gain from increasing your knowledge about this topic.
- What is a current/future trend or controversial topic within the major topic area? Describe the current trend or controversial topic within the major area. Offer support for why this is considered either a current/future trend or a controversial area. Note: This paragraph frames the rest of your paper. Make sure you provide sufficient support for why a certain topic is either a current (or future) trend and/or controversial.
- What impact will this trend or controversial topic have on the HR function of an organization? For example, consider how the trend or controversial topic will impact the responsibilities of the HR area within an organization, employees, and the entire organization in terms of competitive advantage, employee satisfaction, health/safety/wellness, etc.
