The assignment scenario provides for your participation in an informal meeting of representatives of interested states (Iran, Israel, USA, Russia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, European Union) in September 2023 (before the Hamas attack on Israel) where the prospect of lifting energy sanctions on Iran will be discussed, in the context of the conditions created in the global energy market after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. In your report you will include a brief description of the current international political environment in the Middle East, you will refer to the most important, in your view, positions supported during the meeting and proceed to the final proposal/recommendation to the government citing your arguments. You should make your case based on both  Israel’s energy policy and your state’s security policy.
