Keep in mind that Seana, Gerard, and Xue have been full-time employees for the past year and that their averages were determined based on roughly the same number of ratings (N = 1,000). Given that all 3 of these employees have the same mean score, please proceed under the assumption that you should give the award to the employee whose mean score can be estimated most precisely.
- Now let’s keep everything else the same except let’s assume that Xue is instead a newer employee. She has only worked at Home Safe as a support specialist for the past 6 months, which means her average score is based on fewer ratings (N = 500 compared to N = 1,000 for Gerard and Seana). Knowing this information, would you change who you decided to give the award to in the previous response? Why or why not?
