America was greatly impacted by the protestant reformation. so much so that it led to modern democracy, civil rights, capitalism and many other values Americans hold near to them. The Protestant Reformation changed history in so many ways and it also had a large connection with the Western World. It completely changed the political trajectory of western civilization, including its economic, religious and scientific path. The Protestant Reformation was able to give way to the rise of Protestant-Christianity outside of already established churches like Roman Catholic Churches. baptist, Methodist and many others. The Protestant Reformation also led to different translations of the Bible so it was available for many people this led it to become more popular especially in press printing. After Martin Luther King began to staple 95 pages of it to different church doors it began to help the movement of this reformation really take off. This was a big call from God as Martin Luther King Jr. believed, and he continued to work side by side with God to change many Christians lives. After time many later generational reformers were beginning to change because of the influence that Martin Luther King, as well as Hus, and Wycliffe who were other Reformers had on these many different individuals. The Protestant Reformation gave many Americans the ability to boldly choose their freedom and stand up for what they believed in their hearts, which was to be able to practice their religion freely and in peace. When America eventually separated the state and the churches, it gave Americans their freedom to practice their religious beliefs in peace. This helped to really spread the fire of the love for God as people were able to do it without guilt.

The Protestant Reformation drastically changed the way people interacted with scripture. One of the biggest parts of the Reformation was people could read the scriptures for themselves and ask questions about their ideas. This change empowered individuals to go directly to the source of religious texts and question already established doctrines. These new ways of thinking transformed the relationship between people and the church and emphasized the freedom to have different beliefs. The United States was founded on the changes brought about by the Reformation. The Declaration of Independence lays out the ideas of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, bringing back the idea of an individual’s determination to seek for themselves. The Reformation also set the wheel in motion for the separation of church and state. The mindset of a single authority having all the power gave way to the idea of religious freedom and prevented a state religion from being established. This allowed individuals to decide whether or not they practiced any religion, or not, without fearing persecution. Lastly, the importance the Reformation put on critical thinking played a role in developing democratic principles in America. This gave individuals the right to challenge their government if it failed to protect their rights and elect government officials who they know will protect those rights. Essentially, the Reformation influenced the very foundation America was built. We have separation of power and religious freedoms which are ideas that can be traced back to the time of reformation. Because of the Reformations reach, we are still able to practice those same freedoms and hold those same ideals as they did when this country was founded. It is important to remember the reasons these ideals came into play so that we make sure our rights are upheld.
