My topic that professor approved was ; Exploring the Intersections of Race, Ethnicity, and Gender in Sports: A Historiographical Analysis
Using your specific topic related to the history of race, class, gender, and/or ethnicity approved by your instructor in Topic 2, draft a 20-page historiographical essay examining how scholars have advanced and debated the topic. Make sure to:
- Analyze the major scholarly contributions and explain how they have influenced/shaped the field. As you do this, remember to identify the thesis of significant works and evaluate how effectively authors used evidence to support their arguments.
- Include a discussion of theory and methodology as it relates to their topic. This discussion does not have to be in a separate section from the rest of your analysis but can be if that helps you with organization.
- Include a 1-2 page section discussing where the field is headed and suggesting potentially fruitful areas for new research projects (this should be separate from your conclusion).
A formal introduction, conclusion, and bibliography are required. Students should analyze no fewer than 12 scholarly monographs and articles for this assignment.
