1. The Romantic period is often thought to be a reaction against the more logical and scientific Enlightenment that came before. In what ways is this evident from the materials in the lesson?
2. How can you see the elements of the Romantic period expressed in William Blake’s work?
3. In what ways were the American Romantic movement different from the European movement? What do you think caused this difference?
4. Choose your favorite art work from this lesson and describe how it exemplifies the Romantic elements.
