- How does the possibility of world destruction or the devastating effects of climate change that will inevitably occur affect your world view? Do you still have hope? What symbols of hope are there left? Define your point of view and what keeps you going despite the possibility of impending doom. Find research that supports your approaches to hope or survival.
- Use Times New Roman size 12 font
- Use one inch margins
- Double space the entirety of the paper, including the Works Cited
- Use MLA format throughout
- Quotations/paraphrasing and specific examples are required to support your ideas
- Use only three secondary/research sources; these sources are separate from the ones we read for class
- If you plan on using/focusing on texts that we read in class, make sure to introduce the title(s) and author(s) early in the essay, preferably in the first or second paragraph
- Your thesis can be multiple sentences long
- You can definitely have more than five paragraphs
- Your essay needs to be a minimum of 1100 words long
- Your conclusion does not need to restate your thesis; tell your readers what you’ve learned, how you feel now, what questions you still may have. The point is to end as dynamically as possible
