You were assigned to read “Maid to Order” and “Cleaning: The Final Feminist Frontier” for class this week.
In at least three paragraphs, which should include an introduction, at least one body paragraph, and a conclusion, highlight and discuss one topic found in both texts and respond to how you feel about that topic. This can be written in first-person. I want you to make your own points about the topic, but I also want you to reference specific language in both texts that emphasize that topic and explain the text meaning and significance. You should quote the text directly.
The topic can be anything you notice in both texts. It might be how the authors speak about the status of women in society, the expectations of certain people placed upon them by society, how labor is portrayed, or how expectations around labor are a social construct. Whatever the message is that you get from the texts. Explain how the topic is portrayed in the story and what your personal reaction to the topic is.
