Write an essay about the challenges of balancing classwork and athletics (wrestling) in college

For this assignment, you will write a three to four page essay on a topic of your choice. We’ve read a wide variety of essays in The Best American Essays collection and now it’s your chance to create an essay of your own! The essays we’ve read can serve as models in regards to both content and structure. As discussed in class, writing an essay involves making numerous decisions in response to questions. For example, some questions to consider include, “What will I write about? What’s the motivation for my writing? Am I writing to better understand an experience I went through? Do I have a clear message I’m trying to convey? Am I writing about a difficult subject to talk about? Or will my essay convey more positive emotions? How will I write my essay? Will it be more story form with a beginning, middle, and end? Or will it jump around, maybe starting at the end and working backwards? What’s the setting like in my essay? Does my writing need to be more descriptive, or less so?”
