Concept Paper
This learning activity will indicate your ability to critique and apply theoretical knowledge to a topic of research that interests you. You should choose a topic you are interested in (ex: Toronto housing crisis, war in the Middle East, sexual violence in Canada etc.) and applycourse concepts to make sense of a social/political/economic problem in society. OR You can choose a course concept (ex: capitalism, settler colonialism, heteropatriarchy etc.) and develop a paper with a case study that can help us understand that concept in further detail. The concept paper will indicate your grasp of key concepts and theories coveredin the course. Your paper should not only demonstrate adequate knowledge of key concepts and theories that have been discussed in the class, your paper should also demonstrate good writing skills. The paper will have to cite course readings (minimum of three to four class readings). While outside materials can be referred to, thispaper should be written for THIS COURSE. A paper being written in another course CANNOT be recycled and another instructor’s course reading’s cannot be used in lieu of the course material of 3 this course. Please ensure that each paper has a title page with your full name, student number, email address on thecovering page. The length of the paper should be 6-8 pages, double spaced and typed. Follow APA formatting for your citations. Your paper is to be submitted by Quercus online under the assignments tab. Late papers will be given a penalty (see note on late assignments).
