We have discussed how the Aristotelian triangle and its appeals apply not only to textual artifacts but to larger, cultural ones as well. Specifically, we’ve focused on visual advertisements and have discussed, using “Rhetoric of the Image” as a framework, how advertisements are persuasive arguments.
For your second essay, I am asking you to choose an advertisement—either print or film (i.e., television commercial)—and discuss what rhetorical devices the agency has chosen. Use our discussions and notes to recall the following:
