Instructions
Interview an ECE Teacher-Leader or Teacher-Researcher (either in person, or via phone, Zoom, Skype, etc.) about strategies and current issues related to parental, caregiver, and community involvement in ECE. As defined earlier in this course, the Teacher-Leader or Teacher-Researcher could be anyone whose professional role serves as a role model and leader for other ECE professionals. Examples might include, but are not limited to:
- The owner of a small preschool or ECE center
- A team leader for the primary grades at a local public school
- An ECE faculty member at a university who researches and teaches others about ECE
Plan for a 30-minute interview, but allow for flexibility, because your interviewee may want to talk longer. Be sure to ask the interviewee if it is OK to record the interview. Utilize the interview questions that you created for your assignment in Week 5 and be sure to incorporate any instructor feedback that you received on your interview questions in Week 5. Record and transcribe your interview to submit for this week. In addition to the transcribed interview (in the same document), reflect on your interview in a brief written reflection, using citations in the reflection paper to support your observations and ideas that you learned from your interview.
Length: Interview recording and reflection paper (5-6 pages, plus reference list)
References: 2-3 scholarly references in reflection paper
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA standards, and adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
